I painted this to remind people of four-year-old Madeleine McCann, who disappeared whilst on holiday in Portugal and has never been found. It is suitably inscribed on the back of the canvas. The railway station is that of Oporto, renowned for its wonderful blue tiling. The cellist is playing Albinioni's Adagio, watched of course by Portuguese police who seem not to know what to do (representing the fact that they did little right during the actual investigation!) The size of the building represents the magnitude of the disaster that befell her parents.
