“Bluebell Walk at Llanilar” has a slight abstract art appeal. The scene is situated in-land but close to Aberystwyth on the West Wales coast. Although it is off the beaten track it is frequented by tourists and by local people as there is much beauty to experience. This abstract painting was completed in stages as each watercolour layer needed to be crisp dry before the next pigment layer was applied. This meant that the majority of work had to be completed in the studio. I used pastel sketches and a few photographs as reference. I was drawn to capture this scene because the afternoon light was bleaching the mid distant bluebells and it all looked quite tranquil. This artwork is neither mounted nor framed.
