Beautiful huge crimson poppies on a background of mixed green foliage, this work is textured as in the process of creating an encaustic work I scrape back and reveal underlying layers and colours and allow the wax to settle into raised areas in other parts. It does not need framing, the sides of the canvas have been painted with oil pastlel to re-create the feeling of a frame. Encaustic painting simply need a rub with a soft cloth occaisionally to restore the luscious glass like sheen.
